Business : DORA the enforcer passes into law...

European Union lawmakers have voted 612-18 in favor of stricter cybersecurity rules on digital asset providers and other financial institutions. First published in September 2020 as part of the EU’s Digital Finance Package (DFP) , the Digital Operational Resilience Act, or DORA , aims to improve the ‘digital resiliency’ of the financial system, in particular cybersecurity vulnerabilities, reporting and testing shortcomings, and a lack of oversight of third-party providers. The Act will introduce a common set of standards to manage digital risks across the financial sector and ensure the necessary measures are in place to protect against cyberattacks and other sources of disruption. With this lofty ambition as the driving force, the majority of financial institutions in the EU, as well as their supply chains, will fall within the Act’s purview. This includes digital asset companies, such as wallet providers, who will be regulated under the EU’s Markets in Crypto Assets Regulation (MiC

Breaking News: I will reclaim my mandate, says Gov Oyetola

I will reclaim my mandate, says Gov Oyetola:

Osun Governor Gboyega Oyetola has expressed optimism he will reclaim his mandate.

He also assured he'll deliver the State to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2023.

Oyetola, who spoke on Monday to newsmen at the National Headquarters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja after a brief visit to the National Secretary of the party Senator Iyiola Omisore, said the State will deliver one million votes for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2023.

The Governor lost the July 16 Osun governorship election to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke.

The PDP candidate polled 403,371 votes while the Governor scored 372,257.

Dissatisfied by the outcome, Oyetola approached the tribunal and demanded cancellation of the election over alleged over-voting and by-passing of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, among other electoral frauds.

When asked about his fears on the ongoing petition at the Osun Governorship Election Tribunal, Oyetola simply said: "I don’t have any fear. I have faith in Almighty God. I will reclaim my mandate by the grace of God."

On the 2023 presidential poll, the Governor said the State was prepared to deliver for the APC Presidential candidate come February 25, 2023.

According him:"We have started the campaign, sometimes last week, we had a solidarity work throughout the state, we covered 11 km. The turnout was so massive.

"Osun as always been a state for the progressive. So, there is nothing to worry about. I can assure you, we will deliver nothing less than 1 million votes for Asiwaju."
